WELCOME TO THE HOMEPAGE OF RATS - the amateur theatrical society
based in the village of Ruyton XI Towns in North Shropshire.
Founded over 25 years ago, RATS has built a reputation for staging
high quality amateur dramatic productions. We perform in a village
hall universally agreed to have seen better days, but which has been
the venue for some of the funniest and well staged pantomimes that
could be seen anywhere.
We work in different genres as well; crime thrillers, classics and
melodramas and have also been known to dabble in farce and variety
shows.
In recent years we have performed 'in-house' plays, written and
directed by two of our own members.
We also have a strong junior representation, ('Young RATS') involved
in adult productions as well as their own ventures.
Our latest venture was a Victorian Music Hall evening which we
presented to support the work of the village’s Charter Group (see
‘Organisation’) All agreed it was a great success - and the evening
raised £3000
